FAQs

What happens during a session?

A typical session is 50 minutes in length and starts with a client check in. After having our check in, the client is asked if they have any topics they would like to add on to the agenda for today’s session. After discussing, we dive into our agenda and work together through the treatment plan.

How long do I need therapy for?

There are no specific timelines for therapy as therapeutic progress is different for each individual. Some people benefit from shorter-term therapy and slowly phase out of therapy after their goals are met; while some people benefit from longer-term therapy and having someone by their side while they tackle life’s challenges.

What about insurance?

Many extended health care benefit packages cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. Please call your insurance provider and ask what credentials are required for the therapist’s services to be covered, what amount of coverage you have, and when the coverage resets. You will be provided with a receipt upon payment of service to file an insurance claim.

What if I don’t have insurance or limited coverage?

If you don’t have insurance or have an insurance plan with limited psychotherapy coverage, and cost is a barrier to service for you, a sliding scale option is available. Sliding scale consists of reduced-fee sessions to increase accessibility of service to those in need on a temporary basis.

What happens once I reach out?

After receiving your inquiry, I will contact you to book a complimentary consultation. A consultation is 15 minutes in length and is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I will ask you a few questions about what you are looking for in therapy and you will have space to ask me any questions you may have. After our consultation, I will send you an email and if you would like to begin therapy, you are welcome to book an initial session.
